What in gaming and/or gaming culture upsets you the most and what do you think could be done to change it?

Here is my question:

What would Nintendo have to do at this point to make you want to swear them off for good? Where would you draw the hypothetical line?

Ivan, how did you end up with moviebob?

Ivan, what is your favorite non-Nintendo exclusive game and franchise?

Ivan, do you come in red? :D

After all the horrible stuff that's been happening in gaming culture recently (response to Sarkeesian, Mass Effect 3 whining, Oliver North) do you still self-identify as a gamer to other people who don't know you? Have you ever?

What's fairy would you never want to meet in a dark alley?

Ivan-

If you ever have little Fairy kids, whats the most important rule you would teach them as they begin video gaming?

(also, give Bob a hug when you see him. I think he's had a rough weekend and could use it!)

Hey Ivan,

You've not told us much about what YOU actually like to play, so what are your favorite games/series/genres?

Dear Ivan,

If you could use your magical fairy powers to change one thing about video games, what would it be?

I watched two of Bobs past episodes which where featured around "Saving Sonic". Now I'm not sure if you've noticed, but I think SEGA may have found the "Sonic Problem" and have found a way to eradicate it. I was wondering if you could look at my theory and see if it sounds correct, and what your views are.

So I think the Sonic Problem, was that SEGA needed something to pad out the Sonic games. Sonic levels are so fast that they go in an instant, so they added lame hub worlds, extra characters, werehog to pad out the experience, and to make it longer. The short length is the modern Sonic Problem I think. However, with Generations, it seems SEGA padded out the game...with a different kind of Sonic level. I'm assuming of course that to produce Classic Sonic is at less cost to making Modern Sonic. It uses the same engine, and doesn't go as fast, and remains on the 2D plane, so view is locked. Therefore, SEGA can make the highlight of the game (Modern Sonic), and pad it out with some nice Classic Sonic at comparatively less cost. BINGO. Longer length than a purely Modern Sonic Game, less Bullshit than I would usually expect as well.

So yeah, what do you think? SEGA has announced that they shan't be doing this in the future. Do you think this is wise? Thank you very much for answering my question, and good work on the show (:

Dear Ivan

Two questions, feel free to pick whichever one intrigues you the most because I'm an indecisive douche who can't choose for myself.

Question nr 1

Which historical war/period would you like to see get the Dynasty Warriors treatment, i.e become turned into a super-over-the-top beat-em-up where real historical figures wield six swords and shoot lasers from their eyes?

Question nr 2.

What are your thoughts on cross-over videogames, such as Playstation All-stars, Kingdom Hearts, Crozz Zone (that new NamcoSegaCapcom game for the 3DS) etc? Too many? not enough? Easy way for creatively bankrupt creators to cost on former glories, or valid expressions of creativity and non-squicky fanservice that should be lauded? Or something more moderate, any answer is fine. I basically just want someone to talk more about what I believe to be an increasing amount of cross-overs in video games nowadays and what it could mean.

Ivan-
Do you think Call of Duty is unjustly hated upon, especially by MovieBob?

Razmere said...

Dear Ivan. Do you think videogames deserve the same sequel treatment as movies? Where the third installment in a trilogy makes NO sense unless you've seen the first two? (Star Wars, LOTR, Back to the Future, Matrix) Or should each game stand on its own in terms of story, since it can be decades between sequels and it's not quite as easy to go back and play the last five games in a series like it is to just watch the previous movies.

Your thoughts?

Question 1: So Ivan... with you being an MLP fan, I'm curious to know if you saw SHED.MOV and similar parodies. Any thoughts?

Question 2: Do you feel that Extra Credits horribly generalized the eroge genre?

Hey Ivan,

One problem I have with several of Bob's arguments / explanations of some issues is that he provides a view that's very narrow in terms of cultural perspective. I feel that a lot of his episodes deal with a very and exclusively popular American cultural view on things.

I don't consider this to be a problem so far as he can admit and accept this. However, I wonder if you, as someone from a different ethnic and cultural background, have any radically different views on previous episodes?

For example, I'm sure Commissioner Bunnyface may view the PETA issue (The Big Picture: "Skin Game" ) different from Bob.

Not sure if this is late or not, but I'll go ahead and ask my question anyways.

What are your thoughts about the current state and the possible future of e-sports? Do you think the rise in world popularity of games like Dota signals a new era of sorts, or will esports forever be a relatively minor phenomenon?

Hey Ivan,
How long do fairies live compared to humans? If longer, were you planning on overthinking another form of entertainment before videogames came about? If shorter, what future career plans do you have once you get out from under Bob's wing, considering the amount of your lifespan this internship is taking up? If you live the same length of time as humans, why did your father (he was an accountant, wasn't he) think learning the craft of overthinking from Bob was the best fit for you? Has he always wanted you to be an overthinker?

Hey Ivan, here's a fun one for you.

If alchemy actually existed in the the real world, what ingredients would be necessary for creating the perfect game? What ingredients should you stray from?
